Soldier killed in Woolwich London

Last night we watched in horror as the story about the killing of a soldier in Woolwich London unravelled. This incident really touched us as we used to live very near to where the incident happened and still have friends living in the area.
As the night progressed a friend messaged me to say that a crowd, some wearing balaclava's  had gathered in Woolwich town centre and seemed set on making trouble. The news today reported that indeed there had been trouble with the gang throwing things at the police. Looking at the various facebook pages that have developed since this incident it has brought to the surface a lot of racial hatred towards Muslims.
Whilst I feel great sadness for the young man who died and his family I suspect some protesters are just jumping on the band wagon to express their racial views. I'm pretty sure that in the next few weeks there will be unrest in South London.
At the moment the two young men who committed this horrendous crime are in separate hospitals in London. Both men were shot by the police. There appears to be no information about these young men or their motives for committing this crime but their words at the crime scene that they killed the man because British soldiers  killed Muslims every day.suggests that it was  a terror attack. Whether these men acted alone or are part of a wider network will not be known until further investigations take place.
The police have a lot of work to do and in reality the last thing they need is groups such as the English Defence Group and other racist organisations causing trouble.
