Grade l listed Forde Abbey sits on the banks of the River Axe near to the town of Chard in the pretty county of Dorset in South West England. The former Cistercian monastery and now stately home sits in a large estate some of which continues to be farmed and other areas contain award winning gardens. Forde Abbey has been owned by the Roper family for over one hundred years and members continue to reside in parts of the property
